Prehistoric Stonework in the Peruvian Andes: A Case Study at Ollantaytambo

The present work was originally submitted as a doctoral dissertation to the Department of Archaeology at Göteborg University, in June of 1998 (Bengtsson 1998). Fieldwork was carried out in the years 1983, 1985, 1986, and 1989. It was concentrated in the district of Ollantaytambo, which presents exceptional opportunities for studying the construction of fine masonry.
